Travelling across the globe gives us the opportunity to explore different cultures, food, landscapes and languages. One such traveller is Alexandra Blodgett, whose Instagram page is filled with videos of her exploring various places. While travelling abroad, most people do something unique to create a memory of the place forever. Blodgett also did the same during her trip to Guatemala where she tried an unusual pizza.  Instead of preparing it in an oven, she cooked the Italian dish inside an active volcano.

In the clip shared on Instagram by Blodgett one can see a person putting an uncooked pizza with lots of vegetables on a tray into the ground and covering it. A few moments later, the pizza comes out cooked and is served to Blodgett who is seen relishing it.

“POV: travelling to Guatemala to eat pizza cooked on an active volcano. Ok so maybe we didn’t travel there just for that, but it was a fun bonus,” read the caption of the post.

"You must have a guide to enter this National Park! We booked in advance through Pizza Pacaya. This volcano is active! The last significant eruption was in 2021. It gets WINDY and cold up there, so make sure you bring layers!" the caption further read.

Since being shared, the post has amassed over 1.2 million views, more than 70,000 likes and tons of comments.

"What a unique experience. Would totally do this," commented one user on seeing the post.

"This is amazing! The activity I didn’t know we needed on our bucket list," wrote another user.

While another questioned and wrote, "Doesn't volcanoes release Sulphur or something?".

"Well I didn’t know this was my dream, but it is now!!," wrote a fourth.
