New Delhi: A viral video of two delivery partners from contemporary food delivery services platform helping each other in scorching Delhi heat has won the hearts of netizens. While the national capital is receiving rainfall the maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday was three notches above the normal settling at 37.7 degrees Celsius.


In an Instagram reel shared by a user, a delivery partner from Zomato could be seen riding a cycle while another delivery executive from Swiggy, on a motorcycle, held his counterpart’s hand so as to minimise the former’s effort of peddling the cycle with the video captioned: “True friendship seen on these w extremely hot & unbearable days in Delhi!!”. 


The video was widely shared on various social media platforms melting away everyone’s heart. “Divided by companies and united by humanity”, “don’t make me cry”, “breaks my heart” were some of the comments on the Instagram post.

The IMD has predicted "enhanced rainfall activity" over northwest India for two-three days, reported news agency PTI. 


On Wednesday, the national capital experienced moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds forcing diversion of at least seven flights and paralysing road traffic in the city. Strong winds across the city resulted in uprooted trees and snapped power and internet cables in several areas. 


The Safdarjung observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, recorded 52.4 mm of rainfall, and maximum temperature of 35.1 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.


The weather stations at Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge, Ayanagar, Delhi University, Pusa and Sport Complex (near Commonwealth Games village)  logged 92.4mm, 64mm, 21mm, 46.9mm, 21mm, 32mm and 19 mm of precipitation, respectively, as per the PTI report.
