New Delhi: Karachi resident Arif Khan makes children laugh for a living. He dresses up as a clown and roams the streets of the port city of Pakistan to “earn an honest living”. But the man has another talent too — he is a gifted singer. Spotted by popular Pakistani YouTuber Ahmed Khan, who recorded him singing one song after another, Arif is now a singing sensation who is being celebrated not only in his own country but in neighbouring India too.
The video was shared by a Twitter user, @engrkhurram008, on May 2, and the post has since gone viral.
The video starts with Khan asking Arif what he was doing dressed up as a joker, to which the latter replies that he was just trying to earn an honest living by making children laugh. As the YouTuber asks if he does anything else too, he reveals that he sings.
At Ahmed Khan’s request, Arif goes on to sing three songs, starting with Sonu Nigam’s Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin’ from Agneepath.
Asked if he sings Pakistani singers’ songs too, the ‘joker’ sings Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s soulful ‘Zaroori Tha’, hitting the right notes and pitch.
Arif then chooses Arijit Singh’s ‘Khamoshiyan’, winning the internet with his beautiful and deep voice.
The Twitter user also shared his contact details in the thread post so people could help him, and also said he was available to be called for programmes.
In the original video, the YouTuber can be seen asking why he hasn’t gone to any talent show yet. Arif replies that he has to earn a living to support his children. Ahmed Khan then shares his name and contact number, asking people to reach out to him.
