Snakes are one of the most dangerous reptiles on earth. And if it is a King Cobra one needs to be more careful. Recently, Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Susanta Nanda, who is well-known for sharing interesting wildlife content on social media posted a terrifying video of the reptile in which it is seen raising its body and spreading its hood, shocking internet users with its massive height.
"The king cobra can literally "stand up" and look at a full-grown person in the eye. When confronted, they can lift up to a third of its body off the ground," read the caption of the video shared by Nanda on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
In the video, a large King cobra can be seen standing upright atop a muddy platform with its head raised.
Since being shared, the clip has amassed close to 6 lakh views, over 7,000 likes and several comments.
"I had no idea that they could grow this big!", wrote one user on watching the video.
"Even thousand enemies in front of you is never scary, But one King cobra in front of thousand enemies is almost a dreadful feeling", wrote another user.
"I will die on the spot at this encounter just from fear alone", wrote a third.
"King cobras are very calm snakes. They don't get aggressive if encountered in the wild", suggested a fourth.
