Several well-known fashion brands have grabbed headlines in the past for their weird fashion style. Now a video shared on social media of the fashion label Zara has the internet buzzing with curiosity and amusement. The peculiar piece of clothing has also left fashion enthusiasts pondering over its intended use.
"Ye kya hai. Ye kyu hai [What is this? Why is this?] Why Zara why? Accessory hai pata hai but it is still bizarre [I know it’s an accessory but it is still bizarre]," reads the caption of the video shared by Nikita Ghosh on Instagram
The video opens to show a woman holding the accessory and discussing with her friend the use of such a product. She then goes on to reveal the price which is Rs 2,300. According to the Zara website, it is a Sash belt that is worn around the waist. Made of Denim, the belt comes with multiple layers of metal button fastening at the front. Each layer is separated by a cut-out detailing.
Since being shared the video has amassed close to 3 million views, 1,388,856 likes and tons of varied comments.
"At some point we need user manual as to how to wear these dresses," commented one user on seeing the weird accessory.
"when Zara takes advice form urfi javed," another user jokingly wrote. Uorfi Javed is an Indian personality known for her bizarre style statements.
While a third suggested, "You can wear it over a shirt, skirt or shorts."
"After a few years, they’ll sell only tags," wrote a fourth.
