Three traffic police officers in Delhi were suspended after a CCTV video showing them allegedly distributing cash among themselves was circulated widely on social media. In the incident, one officer reportedly accepted a bribe inside a police checkpoint in Gazipur, Thrill Lauri Circle.


The viral video begins with one of the officers having a brief conversation with a man inside the checkpoint. After a short exchange, the officer signals the man, who then places a bundle of money on a table behind the officer who was pretending to look outside.

As soon as the man leaves, the policeman sits down and counts the cash. The video then shows the three officers sitting together as the first officer divides the cash among them. The other two officers can be seen smiling as they receive their share.


The three traffic police personnel in Delhi were suspended as a preliminary investigation was launched with a detailed departmental inquiry also underway, news agency PTI reported.






Sub Inspector, 2 Head Constables Caught Red-Handed By CBI In Delhi


Another incident of taking bribes in Delhi by cops was reported on July 20, when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a sub-inspector while he was allegedly accepting bribes, and two other head constables of the Delhi Police were held in two separate bribery cases.


Head constables Sudhakar and Rajkumar, stationed at the Patparganj Industrial Area, were arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000, part of a larger bribe of Rs 50,000.


Officials told PTI that SI Yadav was charged with allegedly demanding a Rs 3 lakh bribe in exchange for a favorable action-taken report in a case at Saket court.


According to the CBI, the bribe amount was negotiated down to Rs 2.5 lakh, and Yadav was caught red-handed while receiving the bribe.
