An American YouTuber popular for his outstanding command over the Hindi and Bhojpuri languages has gone viral on the internet. Drew Hicks, who shares his travel experiences and culinary adventures in both India and the United States, is extremely popular on social media, particularly among Indian audiences for his distinct accent.
Hicks, who spent his childhood in India recently shared a video in which he says that when people tell him he is not a true Bihari, it makes him furious.
"When someone says I am not a real American, I generally say you are free to think whatever you want, but when someone says I am not a real Bihari, I get furious," Hicks says in the video.
Since being shared, the video has amassed close to 80,000 likes and tons of comments.
"You are more Bihari than all of us combined," commented one user on the post.
"You are a complete American definitely, just a personal who is very accepting to different culture, but just curious how did you choose Bihar of all the states in India," wrote another user.

According to one of Hicks' earlier post, the YouTuber moved to varanasi in India at the age of five with his parents. In total he stayed for 11 years in India and travelled extensively. He learnt how to speak Hindi, Bhojpuri and made a lot of friends in the country.
"I moved to India at the age of five when my parents relocated, and Varanasi was my first home. During my 11 years in India, I travelled extensively, fostering a deep connection to the country. India is where I grew up, learned Hindi, and formed strong bonds, with friends becoming like family. Childhood memories include playing cricket, flying kites, and savouring daal and rice."
