Culinary experiments with unusual pairings such as ice cream with khichdi and Omelette With Dairy Milk have flooded the internet. Latest in the list of bizarre food combos that is going viral on social media is egg pani puri. Moreover, this dish deviates from the essence of pani puri, as there is no puri, which is made from sooji or atta and is packed with spiced potato filling. It also lacks the flavour-infused water that the puris are dipped in.
In the clip shared on Instagram by a Surat-based food blogger Janak Bardoliya, one can see a street vendor making egg pani puri. The vendor arranges boiled eggs on a plate and loads them with with tomato sauce. He then adds fresh cream and grates them with hefty portion of cheese. At the end he sprinkles masalas, and garnishes them with coriander leaves.
Since being shared on May 26, the video has amassed 2.2 million views and 69,746 likes. The bizarre food combo also raked up numerous comments.
