The South Indian dish Dosa is amongst the most popular foods in India. You can find it almost anywhere, from cafes to restaurants to even on the streets. Though the ingredients may vary a little depending upon the region, we all recognise dosa in its classic circular shape. But a video has gone viral on social media showing a street food vendor preparing a dosa in an artistic manner.
The two-minute video shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter by Manoj Kumar, the CEO of the Naandi Foundation, shows a street food vendor attempting to create an animal shape by the dosa batter on the tawa. He takes a spatula and removes the extra batter to make the eyes, nose and mouth. After he finishes one can notice that the man has actually drawn a cat on the dosa pan.
"I believe India’s street food vendors are the most innovative, resilient and impactful food influencers. More than any gourmet chef. Been wondering how to work with them to influence a nutritive food system. Please applaud this guy’s artistic skills", read the caption of the post shared by Kumar.
The artistic piece has impressed the internet and foodies alike. Since being shared, the video has amassed 369.8k views and close to 5 thousand likes.
