This morning Delhi-NCR woke up to the heavy tremors which were only 4.0 on the Richter scale but in reality these shock waves looked way more scary. According to the National Centre for Seismology these tremors were felt across north India, and the national capital was the epicentre of these waves with a depth of just 5 km. 


After Delhi, there were tremors felt in Bihar also with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter Scale hit Siwan. 


But as the tremors stopped the whole social media was filled with memes by the users and said they were woken up by a natural alarm.

In the next one the user posted a collage of two pictures in which the image title was “Earthquake Measuring Device” and in the following there is a picture of Richter Scale and a fan. The meme explained that scientists use the Richter Scale to measure the earthquakes where Indians check their fans. 






Another user posted the famous video of a chicken crossing the road with high traffic still crossing the road without any accident. The chicken was shown as Delhites. 






Pollution is a well known topic of Delhi and in this meme Delhi people were shown running inside because of pollution, and then running out because of the earthquake.

Till now, apart from fallen trees, there are no news of any big accindet due to this earthquake in the Delhi-NCR region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on his X account urging people to stay calm and follow the safety precautions he said, "Tremors were felt in Delhi and nearby areas. Urging everyone to stay calm and follow safety precautions, staying alert for possible aftershocks. Authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation."


 






In a post on X, The Delhi Police said, "We hope you all are safe, Delhi!" It also urged citizens to call on the emergency 112 helpline for emergencies. Delhi is prone to earthquakes as it is located in a high seismic zone (zone IV) of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) seismic zonation map.
