A video showcasing a Russian woman's proficiency in Hindi language has surprised social media users. Shared by bureaucrat J Sanjay Kumar, the clip shows the woman translating a few Hindi lines into English accurately and with ease. The delightful encounter between Kumar, a civil servant associated with the Indian Railway Traffic Service and the Russian woman happened on September 14, which is celebrated as Hindi Diwas.
"Leave translation, many of us will not be even able to understand it. The level of proficiency this lady from Russia has in Hindi is simply amazing. By the way, how is my Hindi?" reads the caption shared by Kumar on microblogging site X, formerly Twitter, along with the video of is interaction with the lady.
In the video, Kumar and the woman can be seen sitting in a restaurant. Soon, Kumar says a few lines in Hindi and the woman after hearing him patiently translates those lines into English, showcasing her hold over the Hindi Language. After the woman finishes translating, Kumar lauds her by saying "perfect".
Since being shared, the video has garnered close to 4,000 views and several comments praising the woman's proficiency in Hindi.
Every year on September 14, schools, colleges, and offices across India celebrate Hindi Diwas to commemorate the adoption of Hindi as India's official language by the Constituent Assembly in 1949.
Following the adoption of Hindi as the official language of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, the country's first Prime Minister, declared September 14 as Hindi Diwas. The day also commemorates the birth anniversary of Beohar Rajendra Simha, who worked tirelessly to make Hindi India's official language.
