Reynolds, maker of 045 fine carbure ball point pen has shunned rumours about the company discontinuing its iconic blue cap pen. The clarification comes after a post about the pen being discontinued went viral on X (formerly Twitter). The white body and blue cap pen was known for its affordability and longevity and was found with almost every student and teacher and in every household. The pen, after being in the market for years still continues to be a popular choice.

"Reynolds 045 Fine Carbure will no longer be available in market, end of an era.." read the post shared on Thursday on X user @memorable_90s.

The moment it was shared, the post went viral. People began to share nostalgia associated with the pen. Some even placed orders for it.

"I still use the same..ordered 15 of these for my office. I think they will be the last ones now," commented one user on the post.

"I guess I'll have to treasure this one as well.. just like my #CamelCompass," wrote another user.

While a third wrote "Just ordered 70pcs@455."

However, Reynolds quickly debunked the rumour. Taking to the social networking site Facebook, the company wrote, "In light of recent misinformation, we wish to clarify: The information being circulated is false".

"We strongly advise our partners, stakeholders, and customers to refer to our official website and social media channels for genuine and accurate updates. Your trust remains our topmost priority," the company added.
