New Delhi: After revised GST rates came into effect on July 18, there was a group of people who were especially disappointed by the decision and that group was lovers of Paneer Butter Masala. The rates were revised during a two-day GST council’s 47th meeting where a decision was taken to bring packaged foods like flour, milk, curd, and paneer under 5 per cent slab. This would mean an increase in the prices of paneer and other dairy products.

Netizens were quick to take to Twitter to express their disappointment through humour. As the number of tweets increased, #PaneerButterMasala started trending on the microblogging platform soon after.
