Carelessness and not following driving rules are some of the reasons that lead to major road accidents. In one such incident that has gone viral on social media, a man crashed his scooter and injured himself due to negligence. The accident was captured in the CCTV camera installed at the location.
In the viral clip, a man is seen sitting on a scooter and a child standing on the scooty's leg space with the ignition on. The scooty is parked outside the portico of a house as the man is seen busy talking to someone. Suddenly the child twists the accelerator of the scooty which crashes into a wall.
People from the house rush to help the man who can be seen in considerable pain. The child, however, doesn't seem to have any grievous injuries.
The video was shared by Twitter user @RoadsOfMumbai with the caption, "Bike tuned on, unsupervised and kid standing in front holding the accelerator."
The post had accumulated 203.9k views and some harsh reaction from the social media users
One of the user on seeing the video wrote, "He totally deserved it … rightfully so … no pity whatsoever.. he ll still not learn and his son already shows signs on how he too is going to break every rule .. who teaches a child that small how to handle the accelerator? Obviously the father … well deserved."
"This for those people, who allow to sit in the lap of the driver while driving, whether 2 or 4 wheeler. Another thing is kids and teenagers standing out of the sunroof of a car. 1 sudden brake even in slow speed, will severely damage spinal cord and the skull for life, vegetable," wrote another user showing concern.
While a third wrote, "Never ever start or keep the ignition on until you are ready to drive. Always keep hands on breaks. Gearless scooters are always danger while kids are in vehicle."
"Let it be a lesson to those who think it is alright to teach underage children to operate 2, 3 & 4 wheelers." Wrote a fourth.
