The fortunes of a man from Tamil Nadu changed dramatically after he won a jackpot in a raffle draw that he played while in the UAE. The project manager named Magesh Kumar Natarajan became the 'first winner outside the UAE’' to win the jackpot. The raffle draw will earn him more than Rs 5.5 lakh every month for the next 25 years, reported news agency PTI.
“It was an unbelievable moment that turned out to be one of the happiest and memorable days of my life. I am also planning to invest in my daughters' education and secure a brighter future for my family," the excited father of two told the agency after winning the draw.
Natarajan, spent most of his life in Ambur, Tamil Nadu but visited Saudi Arabia in 2019 to work for four years. His travels through Dubai exposed him to the city’s popular draws. This kindled his interest, leading him to discover and play a game of FAST5 Grand Prize of Emirates Draw.
At first he didn't believe he had won, but when officials from the Emirates Draw made the announcement, Natarajan genuinely believed the news.
Mangesh wants to support those in need with the prize money.
"I faced a lot of challenges in my life and during my studies. Many people from society helped me to complete my education. It’s my time to give back to society. I will ensure that my contribution to society reaches needy people," he told the news agency.
Mohammad Behroozian Alawadhi, Managing Partner at Emirates Draw also spoke to the new agency and said, "Our vision extends beyond just games; we aim to touch and transform as many lives as possible globally."
