There are plenty of online apps that delivery groceries at your doorstep in a very short span of time. Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto are some of the apps that come to our rescue for the last minute requirements. It also saves you time and the hassle from asking the vendor for the right price.

However, for one of the user, the experience of ordering a packet of bread turned out to be extremely unpleasant. The consumer, identified as Nitin Arora, did not receive a stale or expired product but found a rat trapped inside the packet delivered by Blinkit.

The awful experience was shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter by Arora along with a video and photos.

"Most unpleasant experience with Blinkit, where an alive rat was delivered inside the bread packet ordered on 1.2.23. This is alarming for all of us. If 10 minutes delivery has such baggage, @blinkitcares I would rather wait for a few hours than take such items.#blinkit #zomato," wrote Arora sharing the post.

He also shared a screengrab of his conservation with the customer care service executive of Blinkit promising him to escalate the matter for investigation.

"Yes, I can see, your concern is genuine. I deeply apologise to you for this issue. We have noted this and will escalate it from our end. Your feedback for this specific incident has been noted and we will surely take corrective measures to improve the same," said the support executive.

The horrific experience of Nitin Arora has left Twitter users in shock.

"As much as #EnglishOven and #Blinkit need to explain this. I wonder if our food safety authority actually audits these places time to time and checks for “Safety”," wrote a user.

"How did the store/ delivery person miss this while picking up?," wrote a shocked user.

"@MoHFW_INDIA @fssaiindia .. this is extremely serious and there needs to be a thorough health audit at all their premises. Their operations need to be suspended until there’s a clean chit," wrote a third.

"Maybe it’s a freebie inside from the company side," wrote a fourth sarcastically.
