As the counting of votes in Haryana took an interesting turn, a complete opposite of what the exit polls predicted, the internet was flooded with memes and the most talked about word on social media remained 'jalebi'.

The term 'jalebi' became one of the top trends on X. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a rally in Haryana took a dig at PM Narendra Modi and business magnates Adani and Ambani with a reference to the popular Indian sweet 'jalebi'. Gandhi praised the local jalebi, humorously suggesting it should be exported globally, including to countries like Japan and America.

A user shared the very popular meme 'halat badal gaye, zasbat badal gaye' as major pollsters who conducted the exit polls had predicted an absolute majority for Congress in Haryana. As per the latest trends, BJP seems to be crossing the majority mark of 46 in the 90-member Haryana Assembly and making the government for the third record time.

Most of the pollsters claim that the way of predicting seats and vote share is based on scientific data-gathering principles.

However, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has questioned the slow updates on the Election Commission website during the counting of votes for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

Union Minister JP Nadda has dialled up Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who is leading from Ladwa seat. Before the launch of the poll campaign, BJP had announced Saini as the CM face. Meanwhile, there is a key meeting underway at Manohar Lal Khattar's residence.
