Rakhi, also known as Raksha Bandhan celebrates the unique bond between siblings. On this auspicious occasion, women dress up in traditional attire ties rakhi around their brother’s wrist. But celebrating the festival is not always possible due to busy schedules and professional commitments. However, a sibling duo unable to find time for themselves got the opportunity to celebrate Rakhi after a very long time on an unusual setting - onboard a flight.
In a video shared on microblogging site X, formerly Twitter, by IndiGo shows crew member Shubha tying the sacred thread, or rakhi, around the wrist of her brother Captain Gaurav, following which the pilot respectfully touches his sister's feet.
Before tying the Rakhi, Shubha makes a special announcement.
"In our profession, we don't always get the chance to celebrate festivals and special moments with our loved ones back home, because our duty is to ensure you reach your homes to celebrate with your loved ones."
Revealing the special occasion, Shubha further says, "That's why today is a very special day for me and my brother Gaurav, who is on board today to ensure that we celebrate Raksha Bandhan together after many years."

"Some might envy the job of the cabin & flight deck crew for their glamorised work profile. But nobody envys them for their odd working hours....nobody envys them when they are on the jobs, come rain, come shine, or festivals when all of enjoy at home. KUDOS to every Crew member!," wrote a third.
