As elections near in Rajasthan, leaders and political parties are going that extra mile to win over voters. A similar case was seen on Monday when an independent MLA named Om Prakash Hudla was seen polishing the shoes of people at a cobbler shop in Dausa. While talking about this initiative, Hudla said that he polished the shoes of voters and workers to make them realise that MLAs are employees of voters. He added, "I have done this earlier as well, I am doing it now, and I will do it in the future as well."

In a clip shared by the news organization ANI, Hudla can be seen polishing an elderly man’s shoes before assisting him in putting them on while donning a garland. The MLA is surrounded by several individuals, and one man is seen throwing rose petals towards Hudla.

Hudla performed a similar deed and attracted media attention in 2018 as well. He had won the election from the Dausa constituency.

While talking to NDTV, Hudla said, "Eradicating caste discrimination is my priority. I consider workers as my God. I stand with the common man, the poor, and the labourers and I am always ready to help them. Today I have honored them by polishing their shoes.”

He emphasised, "My aim is to eliminate caste discrimination in the area. Many in the area indulge in caste politics, which is not right for us. In Mahwa, people are living in peace with love for one another. We have established new dimensions of development in the Mahwa Assembly Constituency. I firmly believe that casteism is a hurdle in our path towards progress and development. It perpetuates discrimination and divides our communities. It's high time we break these barriers and work together to uplift every citizen."

Rajasthan is set to witness assembly elections later this year.
