IND vs BAN, Kanpur Test: In what comes as an amusing news, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has hired langurs and their handlers to fight away the monkeys at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur during the India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test.
Monkeys often cause problems at a place with large gathering of people and as per an Indian Express report, the Green Park stadium runs the threat of monkeys snatching food and snacks from the spectators at the venue.

Venue director Sanjay Kapoor noted that broadcast camera operators in the stands are most vulnerable to monkeys snatching their snacks and drinks.
“To avoid the terror of monkeys, we have langurs (long-tailed leaf monkeys) to take care of them,” Kapoor said as per the report.
The report also adds that the elevated platform beyond the boundary line, used by the television crew to position cameras for recording the match, was draped with black cloth on the back and sides to minimise the chances of monkeys gaining access to food.
Notably, it is not the first time Langurs and their handlers have been hired for the cause.
Bangladesh Batters Kept In Check By Indian Bowlers On Day 1
In what was a rain-affected day, Day 1 of the IND vs BAN 2nd Test in Kanpur saw a delayed start and an early finish. Coming to the match, India won the toss and opted to bowl first. Bangladesh batters after wading through the opening spells of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj faced trouble from Akash Deep. The India pacer delivered the first blow to Bangladesh in the very first over that he bowled by removing opener Zakir Hasan. He then removed the other Bangladesh opener as well by getting the wicket of Shadman Islam.
Mominul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto stitched a good partnership but the Indian veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin bagged the latter’s wicket as Bangladesh finished the day on 107-3 in 35 overs.
