Customers are often excited when they see promises like ‘home-cooked meals’ and ‘tastes like home’ at eateries. However, one restaurant took the promise a step further by serving a dish in a pressure cooker.
In a video shared by influencer Manchali Meesha on Instagram, a man at a restaurant is seen opening a small pressure cooker filled with chicken curry and serving it to his young son.
A woman not seen in the video is heard noting how an expensive restaurant was serving food in a pressure cooker.
“Yeh same cooker mere paas pe bhi ghar pe hai (I have the same [pressure] cooker at home)," she is heard saying to the man and child. “Main bhi aisa chicken ghar pe banati hun, bolo, tum log khate nahi ho (I cook the chicken curry in a similar way, don’t you eat it)?"
“Waisa iss mein kya khas hai (What is so special about this)?" she goes on, to which the child answers, “Namak, namak ka swaad... haath ka swaad (Salt, the taste of salt, the cook's touch)".
The woman then says: “Yeh hi cooker maine bed par rakh diya nah toh bologe ki tameez nahi hai khana kaise serve kiya hai (If I serve the same cooker on the bed, you’ll say I don’t have manners to serve food)."
Netizens could not help but laugh at the situation. The video has garnered over 70,000 likes and over 2,000 comments.
A user wrote, “Restuarant wale........ 'Itna bartan kon waste kare, direct cooker hee de aate hai'😂 (Restaurant owners were like, 'why waste so many utensils, let’s just serve it in the cooker)."
Another user wrote, “Ghar jesa khana khane k liye ab log bahar jate hn😂 (People are starting to go out for home-cooked meals)."
