Microsoft co-founder and billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates extended birthday wishes to Windows on its 28th anniversary by sharing a throwback video.  In the clip, the billionaire businessman is seen dancing and singing on stage with other top executives of the company to commemorate the release of Windows 95.


Wished Windows a happy 28th birthday, Bill gates shared the video on the microblogging site X ( formerly Twitter) and wrote, " “Some memories stick with you forever. Others follow you around the internet for 28 years. Happy birthday, @Windows."


In the video, Bill Gates is seen moving around on the stage and dancing with former CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer. 






Windows 95 was launched on August 24, 1995 and the event was a grand celebration in which important people from the tech industry participated. 


Features like the taskbar, start button and internet access were first introduced in this version of Windows. The new launch was highly successful in the software market and Windows 95 reached an unparalleled growth in the next two years.


Since being shared, the video has accumulated 11.2 million views, close to 1 lakh likes and tons of comments.


Gates had recently taken to LinkedIn to share a story about his interaction with Kusuma K, an individual working in the postal department in Bengaluru, India. describing his experience, the billionaire wrote, "I met an incredible force for change on my trip to India: Kusuma K, a remarkable young woman working wonders at her local postal department."


"India has been a leader in developing digital public infrastructure to accelerate inclusive financial development—enabling branch postmasters, like Kusuma K, to use smartphone devices and biometrics to offer banking services to customers across India," he further wrote.
