A viral video on social media showed an autorickshaw driver ramming his vehicle into the boundary wall of the Abdul Kalam National Memorial in Rameshwaram. The incident took place reportedly due to a suspected brake failure and was also caught on CCTV.
According to the local authorities, the autorickshaw lost its control and went off its path before colliding with the wall. However, no casualties were reported. Yet, the incident created a panic among the passersby.
The footage of the incident also helped in understanding the turn of events that led to the crash.

Pvt Bus, Truck Collision On Chennai-Bengaluru Highway
In a separate incident on Tuesday morning, a private bus collided with a truck near Thandalam, close to Sriperumbudur, on the Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway. In the incident, around 10 individuals got seriously injured.
The incident was also caught on camera and evoked response from social media users. The accident reportedly occurred when the bus attempted a U-turn at a signal on the highway. A speeding truck rammed into the side of the bus, dragging it for some distance before it toppled sideways.
The truck eventually came to a halt after crashing into an electric pole on the road divider.
The video footage, which has gone viral on social media, shows the bus overturning due to the impact and passengers scrambling to escape.
