Two stray dogs viciously attacked a four-year-old child near her house in Rajendranagar area of Hyderabad on Friday. The incident took place in the Golden Heights Colony while the child was playing on the road when the dogs suddenly attacked her. In the dog attack, the child sustained severe injuries on the leg and waist.

On the day of the attack, the child was playing on the road but suddenly the two dogs attacked her, as per a report on India Today. Soon, a woman, believed to be her mother, created a hue and cry and saved the child. On seeing her, the dogs too retreated the spot.

CCTV footage from the scene captured a group of dogs trailing behind before suddenly attacking a young girl. Startled, she immediately dropped the ball she was playing with and tried to shield herself. However, one of the dogs bit her and dragged her a short distance. Fortunately, with timely intervention, she was rescued and brought to safety.

The woman immediately rushed the child to a hospital.

The attack has once again raised concerns over the stray dog menace in Hyderabad, as similar incidents have been reported in the past. Last year, an 18-month-old boy lost his life after being mauled by a pack of stray dogs in the Jawahar Nagar area. The toddler was dragged away and fatally attacked while playing outside his home.

Residents have urged authorities to take stronger measures to control the rising stray dog population in the city and prevent further such tragedies.
