Ahead of her padayatra on Thursday at Narsampeta in Warangal district, YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) chief YS Sharmila challenged Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to join her in the padayatra and know the problems of the people. Sharmila's 'Praja Prasthanam Padayatra' was stopped on November 28 after an alleged attack by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders on her vehicle.
"Today I challenge Telangana CM KCR to walk with me in Padyatra and we presented a shoe box to him. If there are no problems in the state, then I'll retire from politics but if this is not true, KCR has to resign and apologise to people of the state," news agency ANI said quoting YSRTP Chief YS Sharmila.

Ahead of the beginning of her rally at 3 PM On Thursday, Sharmila showed a pair of shoes and demanded CM KCR to join the rally for a day and know the problems of people. She demanded that KCR should resign from the CM's post if his claims of 'Bangaru Telangana' are learnt to be false and the people are still reeling under poverty and other problems.
Sharmila earlier claimed that it's Bandit's Rashtra Samithi and not Bharat Rashtra Samithi after she was denied permission to hold a padayatra in Warangal. She started a hunger strike as she protested against BRS government for denying permission to hold padayatra. The police intervened and detained her.
Earlier in December 2022, Telangana High Court questioned the state government for denying Sharmila's padayatra. The court granted permission for the state-wide rally. Despite the court's permission, Sharmila claimed that police weren't allowing her to resume her rally in December.
