Due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, rains have been lashing in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the past five days. However, the low pressure over south-eastern Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha moved north-westwards and became a severe depression on Monday. India Meteorological Center (IMD) said it would move towards South-East Madhya Pradesh and eventually reach North-West Madhya Pradesh in another 36 hours.

Due to this, Meteorological Center officials said moderate to light showers will occur in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Yanam for the next two days. The meteorological center has issued an orange and yellow alert for some districts of Telangana along with AP due to the heavy rain forecast.

The Regional Meteorological Center (Amaravati) has issued a yellow alert for West Godavari and East Godavari districts with a forecast of heavy rain.
