Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has hiked the fare for the Pushpak AC bus pass from Rs 3000 to Rs 5000.


TSRTC issued an order on Tuesday increasing the fare. RTC Pushpak AC buses are operated on four routes from several major centres of Hyderabad city to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in the suburb of Shamshabad.


According to the ABP Desam report, RTC officials said that Pushpak AC bus pass charges have been increased to cover the increased bus maintenance costs. The minimum fare in Pushpak AC buses is Rs 50, and the maximum is claimed to be Rs 300. Passengers who have already paid Rs 3,000 online for Pushpak bus passes should pay the remaining amount, officials said.

The TSRTC has created a record by ferrying 1.21 crore passengers to their destinations and celebrate the Sankranti festival between January 11 and 14. In the process of transporting 1.21 crore passengers to their destinations, the RTC buses travelled about 1.57 crore kilometres in four days.


Compared to last year, this year almost 5 lakh more passengers chose to travel in RTC buses, Managing Director, TSRTC, VC Sajjanar, said on Monday. The top RTC official congratulated the staff for ensuring the safe journey of passengers.
