New Delhi: The son of a TRS leader was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly abducting and raping a 20-year-old woman in Telangana's Suryapet district, ANI reported.


The woman, in her complaint to police, alleged that she was abducted, drugged and raped repeatedly by the TRS leader's son and his friend for three days.



"A TRS leader's son along with another culprit have been arrested in a gang-rape case in the Suryapet district of Telangana," ANI quoted Suryapet's Superintendent of Police as saying.


The accused have been identified as Ghouse Pasha and his friend Sairam Reddy. Ghouse is the son a municipal councilor of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), IANS reported.

The survivor alleged that she was abducted on Friday when she was going to her relative's place.


The duo then allegedly forced her to sit in an auto-rickshaw and took her to a house where they gave her a soft drink laced with sedatives. When she resisted, they assaulted her and sexually abused her.


In her complaint, the woman said she was confined to a room for three days and managed to escape on Sunday after gaining consciousness.


The woman then returned home and narrated her ordeal to her mother. The family then lodged a complaint with the police.


Kodad Circle Inspector Narsimha Rao said that based on the complaint, a rape case was registered against the two accused. The victim has been sent for medical examination, IANS reported.
