Hyderabad: Stones were hurled by villagers of Eradandi village of Ibrahimpatnam Mandal in Jagtial on the convoy of Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind when he came to inspect the Godavari river flowing at the danger mark near Eradandi.

The villagers said the MP had not cared to visit the areas when floods were inundating villages and reminded him of his unfulfilled poll promise to build a bridge in the village. They raised slogans asking the BJP leader to go back following which his supporters entered into an argument with the villagers.

Soon, a section of the crowd began throwing stones on the MP's convoy. The MP’s car and two other vehicles were damaged in the incident.

The MP was brought to safety by the police. Arvind had encountered similar protests during his visits in the past and he had accused the ruling party for creating hurdles.
