Telangana: Revanth Reddy Says CM KCR Trying To Bribe Karnataka MLAs To Ensure Congress Loss In Assembly Polls

Revanth Reddy claimed that KCR had phoned a senior Congress leader from Karnataka and offered him Rs. 500 crores to ensure the Congress was defeated in 30 designated seats.

Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of bribing MLAs in Karnataka to ensure Congress looses in the upcoming assembly elections. In response to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao criticising the Congress party at the Khammam BRS public meeting on Wednesday, Revanth Reddy asserted that KCR had made calls to a senior Congress leader from Karnataka and offered him Rs 500 crores to ensure the Congress was defeated in 30 designated seats.

"We have evidence to prove our claim. Chandrasekhar Rao specifically targeted Congress in order to damage the reputation. The Chief Minister directed some state intelligence officers to gather information on Karnataka's MLAs," said Revanth Reddy.

He questioned the absence of Janata Dal (secular) leader Kumaraswamy at the Bharat Rashtra Samiti Khammam public meeting. He claimed that the JD(S) leader abstained after learning CM KCR's efforts to defeat the Congress in Karnataka to favour the BJP.

"The true character of KCR will be known to all other parties as well soon," he said.

Revanth Reddy questioned KCR about why he did not contest in the recent Gujarat assembly elections. "Why did KCR not lend his party's support to Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal or SP leader Akhilesh Yadav in the elections for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly?" asked Reddy.

Revanth Reddy reminded everyone that the credit for building irrigation projects in the country goes to the Congress party. It was Congress that built the Nagarjuna Sagar dam with a 245 TMCF capacity and all other dams, providing electricity to 1.45 lakh villages and drinking water facilities to 1 lakh villages in the country. He reminded them that Congress had built the Vizag steel plant, established LIC and Air India, and most other assets in the country.
