Hyderabad: Police rescued a 27-day-old boy within a few hours of kidnapping in Vemulawada. The infant kidnapped from Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada late On Monday afternoon was found in Warangal railway station on Sunday night.


Deputy superintendent of police Chandrakanth of Sircilla briefed the media on the kidnapping case. After a fight with her husband, Lavanya, a resident of Shanthi Nagar in Karimnagar town, left her home and came to Vemulawada. She was staying near the steps of Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy temple with her two sons, Sanath Kumar, 2, and a 27-day-old newborn.


She developed a friendship with a couple, Sunitha and Raviteja, natives of Alipiri, Tirupati. The couple came to Vemulawada in search of work two months ago. On Monday's early hours, Lavanya noticed the boy missing, and the couple had also disappeared. After searching for a while, she complained to the police at 6 am on Monday.

The police immediately registered a case. Inspector Venkatesh examined the CC footage on the temple premises and informed all the nearby police stations as part of the investigation. 


According to DSP Chandrakant, the teams went to the Warangal bus stand to arrest the accused and rescue the infant. He congratulated Inspector Venkatesh and other police personnel for solving the case within hours. Police officials have advised people to be vigilant and be careful in crowded areas like Vemulawada Temple.
