Telangana Minister Gangula Kamalakar returned from Dubai hours after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched his residence in an illicit mining and money laundering case.


Speaking to the reporters at the airport on Wednesday night, Kamalakar said, "No one is above the law, so I will cooperate. That's why I came back within 12 hours. I'll clear things up and return to Dubai. I've been in the mining business for 32 years and have always worked within the confines of the law and in a transparent manner."


"The ED authorities broke open the doors of my home in the presence of my personal assistant (PA), who was witnessing it on a video call. I returned to the city from Dubai to assist the investigating authorities by cancelling my family trip," he added.


Minister Kamalkar demanded that the ED officials should reveal how much cash was found in these searches and what was seized. 


On Wednesday, ED conducted searches at the residences of Minister Gangula Kamalakar, the Director of Shwetha Granite Export Pvt Limited. The offices of Shweta Granites and Aravinda Vyas Granites Pvt. Limited in Karimnagar are also being searched by ED officials.


Kamalakar is an MLA from Karimnagar and the Minister for Backward Classes Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies.

ED Raids TRS MP Ravichandra's Offices


ED conducting searches underway in the office of TRS Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, well known as Gayatri Ravi. Apart from the Hyderabad office in Srinagar Colony, the Karimnagar office is also being inspected.


Businessman-turned-politician Ravi is one of the major granite industrialists and State president of the Telangana Granite Quarry Owners Association.
