Chennai: A day after the kidnapping of a woman in front of her father while they were returning to their house from a temple created shock waves in Telangana, the 18-year-old woman has now released a video of her marrying the man who kidnapped her. She also said that she had been in love with the man for four years now and she created a kidnap drama to elope with him.
According to ANI, Shalini, the 18-year-old said, "We're in love for 4 years and even got married a year back. However, as we were minors it wasn't valid."
"My parents filed a case on him & took me back home. They're not accepting him as he belongs to a Dalit family. They were arranging another marriage for me. He came to elope with me as I asked him. We request protection as we have a threat from our family," she said.
On Tuesday, tension prevailed in Sircilla district in Telangana after an 18-year-old woman was kidnapped in front of her father while they were returning from the temple. The kidnap incident was caught on CCTV camera and the visuals went viral on social media.
After the video, Vemulawada DSP Nagendra Chary said, "A case has been registered and we're making all efforts to trace them. Four people are involved in the incident. The girl had eloped with her lover in the past. Now as she has become an adult, he (her lover) might have taken her. Three teams formed to nab them."
