New Delhi: A two-month-old baby was killed and three other persons were injured when a speeding car hit street vendors in Jubilee Hills area in Hyderabad, police said.


According to an ANI report, the incident took place on Friday when a speeding car, with a temporary registration number, rammed into a group of street vendors, injuring three of them.


Two people, including the cousin of Bodhan MLA Shakeel, identified as Mirza, have been arrested in connection to the incident, Jubilee Hills Inspector S Rajasekhar Reddy, said.


Police said two of the women have sustained injuries while the mother of the deceased infant was in a critical condition and had to be shifted to NIMS hospital for further treatment.


According to the complainant, Mirza was in the back seat of car. However, police said they are yet to ascertain the claim due to non-availability of CCTV footage.


Taking stock of the accident, MLA Shakeel said that he has ordered a police probe into the incident and have also asked his cousin to compensate the family for their loss.


Further investigation into the matter is underway, police said.


Meanwhile, in another incident, at least three persons were killed and three injured when a tractor overturned after its driver suffered a cardiac arrest.


The incident took place at Sansthan Narayanapuram mandal's Chitanbavi in Telangana's Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Friday, police said.


The tractor was returning after unloading bricks at Sherigudem village. The driver, Yellaiah, lost control of the vehicle after he suffered a cardiac arrest, which caused it to overturn.


Yellaiah and two other workers inside the vehicle died while three others were injured.


The deceased have been identified as Sitharam and Durga. The injured have been hospitalised.


The workers hail from Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram district and worked at a brick kiln here.


In another road accident, three persons were killed and three other injured in Mahabubabad district in Telangana, police said.
