Thousands of people participated in the 'Telangana Run' organised across the state on Monday as part of Formation Day celebrations. The Hyderabad city police organised 2 km and 5 km runs from the BR Ambedkar statue to Necklace Road.


The run was flagged off by Home Minister Mohammed Mehmood Ali, Minister for Youth Affairs and Culture Srinivas Goud, and other dignitaries, reported IANS.


The event saw enthusiastic participation from ministers, legislators, public representatives, police officials, sportspersons, and film personalities. Renowned singer Mangli, shooter Esha Singh and actress Sreeleela attended the run, adding excitement to the event, which saw over 4,000 participants, particularly young people.

The Telangana Run served as a platform for people to come together, celebrate, and reinforce the spirit of unity and progress achieved over the past decade.


During the event, dignitaries highlighted Telangana's development under Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's leadership, with the state leading in terms of development. They emphasised Telangana's accomplishments in sectors such as information technology and industry, urging the youth to actively participate in development and welfare initiatives.


Officials also praised the tremendous response received for the Telangana Formation Day celebrations, with the Chief Secretary emphasising Telangana as a role model for the entire country.


Director General of Police Anjani Kumar highlighted Telangana's safety and health, attributing its fame to rapid development across various sectors. He described the Telangana Run as an incredible event, taking place against the backdrop of the 125-foot statue of Dr Ambedkar and the newly constructed state Secretariat.
