All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi has hit back at Telangana Congress President Revanth Reddy for his “khaki knicker” comment against the Hydearabad MP. Reddy launched an attack on Owaisi saying that he "wears a khaki knicker under his sherwani."
Responding to the comments, Owaisi took a dig at Reddy calling him a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and that the RSS and Mohan Bhagwat still control Reddy.
Owaisi also said that targeting a person based on their clothing meant that Reddy hates people wearing sherwani and skull cap, in an apparent reference to the Muslims in the country.
“If you are targeting people based on their clothes, it means you hate people who wear sherwani and skull caps. So those who wear caps and have beards, this Congress (Telangana) president hates them,” Owaisi said.
“I believe that people who wear kurta pajama and a cap will tell him in the upcoming polls that such a person (like Reddy) is a member of RSS and is marching ahead with Hindutva agenda,” he added.

"...When you have nothing to say then you start talking about our clothes...This is called dog whistle politics, which is being done by the (Telangana) Congress President...I told you earlier that you (Revanth Reddy) have come from RSS, your connection with RSS is still there, Mohan Bhagwat is controlling you," the AIMIM chief said further.
He equated Reddy’s comment with the one that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave during the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act where he said that the protestors could be identified by the dress they wore.
