The electoral contest for the 119 Telangana Assembly seats reached its climax on November 30, featuring a triangular battle among the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Congress, and BJP. The focus now shifts to the outcome in the southern state, raising the pivotal question of whether Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will sustain his impressive winning record in this newly-formed state, where he has held undisputed rule.














On Thursday (November 30), the state recorded a voter turnout of 70.60 per cent. The voting took place without any major untoward incidents barring a few minor hiccups and issues. The polling, which started at 7 AM, concluded at 4 PM in 13 Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected areas, and it concluded in 106 other constituencies at 5 PM on Thursday.














The BRS is aiming to secure a third consecutive term in the state, facing a determined opposition effort from the Congress to unseat the incumbent. The BJP has undertaken an extensive campaign, featuring prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing rallies in the state.











Exit polls on Thursday predominantly favored the Congress in Telangana.
