Hyderabad: Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Wednesday announced a 15-day extension of the deadline for settling pending traffic challans at a reduced rate, providing significant comfort to motorists.
The motorists can pay the challan till April 14 against the earlier date of March 31.
Mahmood Ali said, "there were 2.4 crore challans for Rs.840 crore. So far, payments totalling Rs.250 crore have been made. With the orders of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, the concession deadline on pending challans from March 1 to 31 has been extended for another 15 days. 52% of motor vehicle owners across the state have taken advantage of this opportunity."
The state Home Minister said that the decision to extend the deadline was made in light of the financial difficulties that individuals, particularly the middle class , have been experiencing over the past two years due to Covid-19.
He said those who have not yet been able to pay the challans should take advantage of the discount and clear the challans through https://echallan.tspolice.gov.in/publicview/ apart from Mee Seva counters.
Telangana e Challan Payment Offers
- For the two-wheelers, a 75% discount is given by the Hyderabad Traffic Department to people whose challan are pending.
- For RTC drivers, if 20-30 %challan is paid, then the balance amount will be ignored.
- People holding four-wheelers like cars, SUVs, and Jeeps have paid the 50% money of Challen, they do not need to pay the remaining balance.
- No Mask Challan- Rs.100 / - is paid, then the balance amount of Rs.900 will be ignored.
