Telangana Congress MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana is facing flak after his video showing him getting closer to a woman and trying to put cake on her cheek went viral on the internet. The incident occurred at a New Year event in Karimnagar district, reported news agency IANS. In the video, the woman could be seen trying to distance herself, but in the third attempt, the MLA manages to daub the cake on her face.

Not only this, the MLA is seen holding the hand of the woman while dancing in another video, the agency stated. The inappropriate behaviour of the MLA has received massive criticism with people questioning his act. Leaders of the opposition parties and netizens have slammed Satyanarayana. Notably, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar was also present at the event held at the Congress party office.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader Jagan Patimeedi condemned the act and asked if the behaviour would amount to "outraging modesty of woman".

"Is this not an act of "outraging the modesty of woman. Can @NCWIndia order for suo-moto proceedings on this newly elected Telangana Congress MLA for his filthy behaviour @TS_SheTeams," he said in a post on X.

"Shame on Manakondur @INCTelangana MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana for going too forward in the celebration. The lady was visibly uncomfortable, & happened in the presence of minister @PonnamLoksabha. Why will women want to be in Politics, leave aside 30% reservation," Mukhalifeen E Majlis said on X.
