Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Revanth Reddy along with other Telangana Congress leaders were placed under house arrest on Thursday to prevent them from reaching the Civil Supplies Bhavan and Vidyut Soudha.


On Thursday, the Telangana Congress called for a protest at the TSTransco & TSGenco due to the soaring power tariff prices. While Revanth Reddy was to participate in it, he was placed under house arrest ahead of the protests.






It is learned that Congress has called for a series of protests against the anti-people policies of the central and state governments. As part of that, Congress today called for the siege of power plants and civil supplies offices protesting against electricity tariffs. Following this, Revanth Reddy, the party's state working president, Mahesh Kumar Goud, senior leaders Shabbir Ali, Mallu Ravi, Dasoju Shravan, Harkara Venugopal, Bakka Judson, Nagesh Mudiraj and others were also placed under house arrest.

On Thursday, Congress campaign committee chairman Madhu Yaskhi criticised that the Chief Minister KCR sleeps in Delhi but does not meet the Prime Minister. He said TRS leaders and ministers were shamelessly blocking national highways to protest rising prices and causing trouble to people and commuters.


He condemned the arrests of Congress leaders who were protesting to reduce electricity tariffs. Has K Chandrasekhar Rao reduced the VAT levied by the state government on fuel prices in the years since he came to power? He questioned.
