Telangana CM KCR Inspects Construction Work Of New Secretariat Building

CM KCR stated that the Telangana Secretariat will be built as a model for other states, as well as to assert the state's self-respect.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao visited the construction site of Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Thursday and inspected it from the main entrance to the top floor. He examined the recently installed domes and wall cladding constructed with Dholpur stone including the elevation of the main gate and gave some suggestions to the work agencies and engineers.

The CM also inspected the compound walls, railings, beautifully designed water fountains, lawns, staircases, and main entrances in the north and south parts of the Secretariat.

After completion, the Telangana Secretariat will become the only building in the country to have used such large quantity of Dholpur stones in the last hundred years, said the fficials present at the construction site. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that a Martyrs' Memorial is under construction in front of the Secretariat to commemorate the sacrifice of those who laid down their lives for Telangana.

“The State Secretariat complex has been named after Dr BR Ambedkar with an aim to provide good governance to the people and ensure welfare of the poor and other weaker sections. The tallest statue of Dr BR Ambedkar is also being installed next to the Secretariat to remind the people’s representatives and the officials to perform their duties responsibly and effectively,” said Chandrashekhar Rao during his visit to the secretariat.

The new secretariat is being constructed using the green building concept. And in order to finish the work on time, construction of chambers, interior design, plumbing and electrical work, workstation setup, flooring, coloring and the construction of porticoes are all being done simultaneously.
