Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay alleged that the TRS government was ignoring Articles 73 and 74 of the Constitution. He said the BJP party is committed to the development of the local self-governance model. In a letter to sarpanches, Sanjay Kumar said that PM Modi was committed to the local self-governance model, for which PM Modi has allotted the maximum funds.

The BJP MP accused the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government of having up to 20 lakh pending invoices per gram panchayat. He also said the TRS government failed to meet its obligations under the Government Orders (GO). "The state government has blocked sarpanches' public accounts and threatens to suspend them," Sanjay said, as quoted by ABP Desam.

Sanjay said that the TRS leaders in their election campaigns in 2014 promised to strengthen Panchayati Raj institutions, which had been undermined and politicised during the ineffective government's six years in power. However, he said that such promises had not been met even after eight years of forming the separate state of Telangana.

He further said the Centre is providing funds for developmental projects, including Rs 11 lakh for 'Palle Pragati' and constructing 'Vaikuntha Dhamams', Rs10 lakhs for Rythu Vedika, Rs 4 lakh for Palle Prakruthi Vanam, Rs 2.5 lakh for dump yard construction and Rs 1.5 lakh for setting up of nurseries in each village panchayat.
