New Delhi: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders across Telangana have hit roads on Thursday to stage protests against the increase in the price rise of fuel and LPG.
Telangana Home Minister Mahmood Ali, Fisheries Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, TRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha along with other ruling party leaders have staged protests by setting up stoves at Dharna Chowk in Hyderabad and cooked food on road.
Speaking at the event, Kavitha demanded the Centre to roll back the prices hiked. "Our entire cabinet & the people of Telangana are protesting today because the price of LPG gas cylinders has crossed Rs 1,000. Fuel prices have gone up. This is hurting the common people in a severe way. We demand the Central govt to roll back these prices," the TRS MLC said, as quoted by news agency ANI.

Meanwhile, the Opposition slammed the Centre's decision of increasing fuel and LPG prices. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the Centre by saying the "lockdown" on fuel price revision has been removed, an Economic Times report said. "Ask the Prime Minister about the inflation epidemic and he will say Thali Bajao," said Gandhi, as quoted by ET.
"Another gift of inflation from the BJP government for the public... LPG cylinder in Lucknow is close to Rs 1,000 and in Patna above Rs 1,000! Elections over, inflation begins," the report quoted Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav.
