As the new Congress-led government has been formed in Telangana, the BJP in the state has decided to ramp up the poll preparations for the Lok Sabha elections scheduled next year. Telangana BJP president Kishan Reddy on Friday said BJP chief JP Nadda is likely to visit Hyderabad as part of preparations for the upcoming elections.
Reddy, who spoke at a gathering of BJP's state office bearers and district president, urged the party cadre to prepare for the forthcoming Parliamentary elections.
He emphasized that the BJP should strive to secure the highest number of seats in Telangana, surpassing both the ruling Congress and opposition BRS, out of the total 17 Lok Sabha seats.
Highlighting a positive atmosphere for the BJP nationwide, as evident in recent assembly polls in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, he expressed confidence that the Modi government is poised for an hat-trick, returning to power with an even greater majority which was a sentiment shared by various sections of the populace, political analysts, and others.
As the Union Tourism Minister, Reddy noted the BJP has increased its vote share in Telangana from 6.9 percent to approximately 15 percent in the recent Assembly elections.
He announced that the newly-elected BJP MLAs would tour all districts in the state to reinforce the party.
Furthermore, he stated that the NDA government is actively working to ensure that the benefits of its diverse welfare schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries.
In the recently concluded Telangana Assembly election, Congress unseated BRS by securing 64 seats and the pink party received 39 seats. The BJP bagged 8 seats while AIMIM secured 7 seats. The CPI which contested as an ally of Congress bagged 1 seat. Of all, a BJP candidate K Venkata Ramana Reddy defeated BRS chief KCR and CM Revanth Reddy in Kamareddy.
