Telangana Industries and Commerce Minister K.T. Rama Rao expressed delight on Friday that India's first Integrated Rocket Design, Manufacturing, and Testing Facility, Skyroot Aerospace, will be situated in Telangana.
KTR stated that he told Co-Founders Pawan Chandana and Bharath Daka of the startup that they would design, build, and test rockets in Telangana.
The Minister participated as Guest of Honour at an event held at T-Hub to commemorate Skyroot Aerospace's successful launch of the Vikram-S rocket. On November 18, the Hyderabad-based startup, incubated at T-Hub, launched India's first private rocket.
Congratulating the team, he expressed happiness and satisfaction that a space tech business from Hyderabad, India, had overcome all obstacles. According to KTR, "just a handful of companies in the world have mastered rocket science and achieved success on the first try. The launch was absolutely historical."
KTR recalled a vending machine where children could design toy automobiles by picking car, colour, name, make, and other elements during a visit to a museum at Suzuki's Headquarters in Japan when a group of school kids was on a tour.
He claimed that the procedure teaches young minds how to build and customise cars. Design innovation was taught to youngsters in a subtle and indirect manner, which is not generally instilled in children at a young age. He stated that if curiosity about design thinking is fostered from childhood, individuals will gravitate toward it, which is now lacking in our system.
The Minister expressed his desire to see Hyderabad become India's Spacetech capital, recalling that the state government had already developed a Space Tech Policy.
He extended his best wishes to Dhruva Space, another Hyderabad-based space tech business that will launch two satellites on Saturday.
