Hyderabad: Weather updates for the next five days in Telangana have been announced by Hyderabad Meteorological Department. Officials have announced that Telangana will receive heavy to very heavy rains for the next five days from Thursday. 


IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rains likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Siricilla and Karimnagar districts. And heavy rain is likely to occur in isolated places in Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Kamareddy districts of Telangana.






Moreover, winds of 30 to 40 km per hour are expected in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Siricilla and Karimnagar districts from the afternoon of Thursday.


Nirmal district is first among the districts with the highest rainfall in Telangana since the monsoon hit the state with 135.1 mm Rainfall is recorded. Officials announced that 128.2 mm of rain had fallen in Nizamabad, 126.6 mm in Jagitya, 112.7 mm in Peddapally, and 100.1 mm in Karimnagar.

The Sriram Sagar project in north Telangana was heavily flooded. The gates were lifted in the second week of July in the history of the SSRSP project. In just four days, 70 TMC of water has reached the project. Officials have lifted 36 gates and released over 4 lakh cusecs of water downstream. At present, the water level has reached 76 TMCs, 1,087.9 feet. The inflow of 4.20 lakh cusecs and outflow of 4.57 lakh cusecs continued on Wednesday.
