BSP Leader Praveen Kumar Demands President Murmu Intervention In TSPSC Paper Leak Case

Praveen Kumar claimed that the state government's SIT is not at all competent to probe into such a serious scandal.

Former IPS officer and Telangana president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) RS Praveen Kumar has written to President Droupadi Murmu to request a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) question paper leak. Praveen Kumar has also requested to replace the chairman and members of the TSPSC.

Praveen Kumar claimed that the state government's Special Investigation Team (SIT) is not at all competent to probe into such a serious scandal. He alleged that the press conference Minister K.T. Rama Rao gave on behalf of the TSPSC and SIT strengthened the suspicion that the government only established the SIT to protect the real offenders who are holding high offices from prosecution, punish only the small fry, and give the case an unceremonious burial.

Praveen Kumar also wrote that the future of lakhs of job aspirants is at stake now with the ongoing scandalous paper leakage of the prestigious Group-I, AE, AEE, and 15 other examinations notified by the TSPSC in the last several years.

"It's a matter of shame on the part of the TSPSC which is constituted under Article 315 of the Constitution to indulge in such illegal and criminal activities with active collusion of the ruling party," he said.

He urged that the TSPSC chairman and members be replaced with the most qualified and reputable people, claiming that the TSPSC, which is the primary accused in this scandal, is moving forward with recruiting schedules under the government's direction.

He demanded that all recent TSPSC examinations be reconducted and all upcoming ones be postponed until the Commission is completely overhauled and the recruitment process is thoroughly insulated from extraneous influences.

On Monday, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) examined TSPS Chairman Janardhan Reddy. SIT officials questioned him and reportedly gathered information from him as to how the accused managed to access the credentials of the confidential section to steal question papers and leak them.

The chairman was also reportedly asked about the functions and responsibilities of various employees in the commission. The SIT officials gathered information about the process of preparing the question papers, the steps taken for their security, and the process for conducting the exams.
