A case has been filed against suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh and others for allegedly attempting to incite violence during a parade staged as part of the Ram Navami celebration on March 30, according to Hyderabad Police on Sunday, news agency PTI reported.

On Saturday, a FIR was lodged against Raja Singh and others at the Shahinayathgunj Police Station under IPC sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 505 (2), based on a complaint filed by a Sub-Inspector of Police accusing them of inciting enmity and hatred among different religions.

The complainant said that when Raja Singh's procession arrived in Chudi Bazar on March 30, the MLA gave a speech declaring that Hindu Rashtra should be formed in this nation.

Following his speech, several of his supporters in the march displayed images of Gandhi's killer Nathuram Godse and yelled chants with the goal of inciting public hatred on religious grounds, according to the complaint.

On Saturday, Raja Singh was charged with IPC Sections 153 A (attack on religion) and 506 (threat to inflict death or serious harm) for reportedly making an inflammatory statement during the parade at Afzalgunj police station.

In response to the allegations, Singh stated: ''Case after case is registered. If I speak on Hindu Rashtra and love jihad...case is booked''. He asked, ''Did I name any religion or a person during the procession?''

The legislator said that the proceedings were filed against him as part of a plot to re-enforce the Preventative Detention (PD) Act on him, and that he "doubts whether Telangana is part of India or Pakistan."

Raja Singh stated that he had received threats that his son would be "kidnapped," and that he had already reported this to the police.

Videos reportedly depicting Raja Singh during the parade had already gone viral. Due to a "push," Raja Singh stated in one of the films that shrines will be built in Mathura and Kashi following the erection of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.

In another video, the suspended Goshamahal Legislator delivered a "sankalp" (resolution) to a meeting in Hyderabad to build India a "Akhand Hindu Rashtra."

The BJP removed Raja Singh from the party in August 2022 after an uproar over his purported statements against Islam and Prophet Mohammed.

He was detained after being booked for the statements, however he was eventually released on bond. Raja Singh had been detained under the Preventative Detention Act, however the Telangana High Court overturned the PD Act in November 2022.

The BJP member, who is renowned for his strong Hindutva beliefs, is facing many police investigations in Hyderabad, including allegations of communal violence.
