Hyderabad: Rain continues to lash Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Indian Meteorological Department centres in Hyderabad and Amaravati have announced in separate announcements that the states would receive heavy rains for the next two to three days.
The current weather condition is concentrated in the East-West Shear Zone 20 degrees North between 3.1 km to 5.8 km above sea level over northern peninsular India. The cyclonic circulation, which was present in the vicinity of Northwest Bay of Bengal on Wednesday, has extended up to 1.5 km above mean sea level in the area of Chhattisgarh adjoining North Odisha on Thursday.
In North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, light to moderate rains or thundershowers are likely to occur in many places for the next two days. Heavy rains are possible in one or two areas. Thunder and lightning are also expected to occur at one or two places.

Rayalaseema is likely to receive light to moderate rains or thundershowers at some places on Thursday and Friday. Thunder and lightning are also likely to occur at one or two places.
In Telangana, the officials of Hyderabad Meteorological Department have revealed that there will be moderate rains in many places in Telangana. Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur in Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Janagama, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Nagar Kurnool districts in Telangana. An orange alert has been issued for these six districts. Meteorological officials have predicted heavy rains in other places and rains with thunder and lightning in some districts. A yellow alert has been issued in other places.

The sky is covered with clouds. Some parts of the city are likely to experience light to moderate rains with heavy showers at times. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 29 degrees and 21 degrees, respectively. Surface winds from the west southwest direction with a wind speed of 8 to 14 km per hour are likely to blow.
