Tech billionaire and X (Formerly known as Twitter) chief Elon Musk has offered to give Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg $1 billion if he changes the name of Facebook to Faceboo*. In an X post, he said that “think of how much happier everyone will be logging onto ‘Faceboo*. This move of his came after a parody account named 'The Babylon Bee' posted Musk's offer on X. Following this, Musk with his well-known wittiness replied, "It would be a much better name!"
This statement of Musk's comes as the latest development in the pattern of lighthearted exchanges between the two tech giants, X and Meta.
The banter follows the challenge that was put forth between Musk and Zuckerberg which was a cage fight. The challenge of cage fight made ripples on the internet earlier this year, however, to fans' disappointment, the fight never happened. Zuckerberg accused Musk of not being serious about his challenge due to which it never happened.
However, the X chief in an interview after these allegations said, "He accused me of not being serious, and I said, ‘Listen, at the end of the day, I’ll fight you any place, anywhere, under any rules.’" He revealed that Italy was willing to let the two tech giants fight it out at the Coliseum, as reported by the First Post. He added, “I was like, well, can’t turn that down. Then I was like, well, if it’s going to be in the Coliseum, I like UFC and everything, but we don’t have tons of ads in UFC branding on the Coliseum 'cause it’s a place of great history. You don’t want to have it be all like NASCAR. And then Zuck pulled out," as reported by the Mint.
Musk has recently made headlines for doing a similar thing with Wikipedia as well. While taking a jibe at Wikipedia over its accuracy, Musk said that it should rename itself as 'Dickipedia'. He then added that this name should stick for at least a year. Musk said that if Wikipedia follows these conditions then he would donate $ 1 Billion to the said website as well.
